We make assumptions about what others are doing or thinking—we take it personally—then we blame them and react by sending emotional poison with our word. If you have to assume, assume the positive.
We have to understand that if we come from a very bad place, we’re going to have a lot of negative thinking in our minds and our assumptions are usually going to be negative because that’s our predominant state. As we begin to work on ourselves and we get to higher levels and we start to look at the world as more positive, we feel more empowered, our self-esteem and self-confidence goes up, we’re going to make more positive assumptions. We are going to look at something and say, “What is the optimal thing I can do right now to overcome this,” rather than blaming people.
If anything happens to you in your life, figure out how you can take what action and actually take that action to move you forward rather than pointing your fingers at somebody else. The more you do this, the better you get at it. And the less likely you are going to do that. And the better you’re going to feel because you’re not blaming other people.
When you blame other people, you essentially pass the responsibility onto other people and it’s kind of delusional to think that other people should be responsible for your happiness. A lot of people have a lot on their plate and they’re doing a lot of things. The only person responsible for your happiness and for your well-being is yourself. And it’s from that place, that you will attract more self-responsible people and then you’ve got a very synergistic interdependent environment. But you have to bring that energy with you first.
